Pastor Tim Slaughter was saved at the age of seven and sensed the call to preach at 15. He answered that call soon after and has been faithfully ministering ever since.

Pastor Tim Slaughter is a dynamic preacher, teacher, worship leader, and visionary leader whose ministry bridges cultures and generations through sound, Word, and Spirit. With over 20 years of experience, he is the Lead Pastor and founder of Word & Worship Family Center, where he is building a Christ-centered community focused on worship, biblical teaching, and authentic connection.

He currently serves as International Minister of Music for the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., and graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s degree in Worship Studies.

He previously served as Worship Pastor at Calvary Church of Naperville under Pastor Marty Sloan, and as Executive Pastor of Creative Worship and Fine Arts at Victory Cathedral Worship Center under Pastor Smokie Norful. Prior to that, he served as an Assistant Pastor at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan, under Bishop Charles Ellis III.

His musical journey includes collaborations with gospel greats such as Eric & Anson Dawkins, Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Kirk Franklin, and Richard Smallwood, and his debut album Kingdom Mentality – The Heart of Worship continues to impact worshipers everywhere.

Pastor Tim is passionate about cultivating authentic worship that unites people and glorifies God. Above all, he loves the Lord, his wife Joi, and their two children, Katelyn and TJ.

Joi brings a unique blend of leadership, compassion, and dedicated support to Word & Worship Family Center. With decades of experience guiding people, supporting women, marriages, and families, and strengthening communities, she is passionate about creating spaces where individuals can grow, heal, and thrive. Her heart for family, excellence, and holistic well-being is deeply embedded in the foundation of Word & Worship Family Center.
